Amid rising tensions in NATO allies, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has warned his French counterpart, President Emmanuel Macron, not to “mess up” with Turkey.
During a speech in Istanbul on the 40th anniversary of the 1980 military coup, President Erdogan said, “Don’t try to mess with the Turkish people. Don’t mess with Turkey.”
In fact, France publicly condemned Turkey last month, when Greece and Cyprus sought hydrocarbon resources.
The naval influence in the Mediterranean came face to face and the situation was looking quite tense.
On the other hand, President Erdogan has urged Greece to refrain from committing “wrongdoings” in the East-Mediterranean at the instigation of countries like France.
Especially at a time when France has increased its military presence in the region amid naval exercises between Greece and Turkey.
Stance Of USA Over Dispute
The United States, meanwhile, has urged Turkey to immediately suspend all activities in the Eastern Mediterranean that could increase tensions in the region.
U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has called on all parties to “adopt a diplomatic approach.”
He claimed that President Donald Trump would soon talk to the Prime Minister of Greece and his Turkish counterpart, President Erdogan, to explain this.
There’s Going To Be More Trouble Right Now
Erdogan’s statement is being hailed as “the most direct attack ever carried out by name” during the recent tensions in the Eastern Mediterranean.
In his speech, Erdogan said, “Macron, you have very little time left anyway. Now consider yourself standing on one leg.”
In fact, France is due to hold its next presidential election in 2022, and in the context of these, Erdogan tightened the noose on macros.
Erdogan also threatened, “Macron, you are going to have more trouble with me.”
Tensions have risen between the two NATO allies, France and Turkey, over the Eastern Mediterranean, but there have also been differences over the conflict in Syria and Libya.
In his speech, Erdogan accused France of taking advantage of Libya for petrol and Africa for diamond, gold and copper.

Macron Learned A Little History By Erdogan
President Emanuel Macron said on Thursday that “Europeans should be clear and firm about the unacceptable actions of the Erdogan government, not about Turkey and its people.”
Macron made the remarks at a meeting of the European Union.
Earlier, the European Union warned Turkey that tough economic sanctions could be imposed if it did not try to ease tensions with Greece and Cyprus in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Other NATO member states believe the latest dispute was triggered by Turkey, which on August 10 sent its Oruk Reese ship to search for gas reserves in the eastern Mediterranean
Oruk was accompanied by warships, as well as Turkey’s mission. Also made three times longer.
But Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan dismissed all of these claims in a recent remark, saying “macros need to adjust their understanding of history a bit.”
Erdogan said that “France should not explain to Turkey what to do. Macron should first read the history of France, and check his country’s record of what he did in Rwanda and Algeria.”
Macros Have Also Made Statements
Amid the current tensions, French President Emmanuel Macron has also made scathin statements about Turkey.
Macron recently said that “Turkey wants action against itself, it does not want to understand the way of negotiations.”
If you don’t take action, there is no point in talking to him and explaining to him, He added.
Macron stated that “France has made no distinction between what it says and what it does when it comes to the sovereignty of the Mediterranean countries.
In my opinion, the strategy that Turkey has adopted in recent times cannot be the strategy of any NATO member, Emanuel added.
He is attacking the sovereignty of the two EU member states and their special economic zones. He is now provoking the European Union with his actions. “
